In late January, one of our sponsored children, Haile Giorgis, after years of trying, was granted a visa to come to the US to pursue his dream of becoming a world-class runner. Haile, who is now 23, lost both of his parents to AIDS when he was just a young boy. Thanks to the generous support of students and families at Georgetown Day School and the Maret School in Washington, DC, as well as many other supporters of HFC-US, Haile is now in the Washington area training with a coach. We are all excited; this is pretty heady stuff for a poor AIDS orphan from Ethiopia and for us!
